MARSHALL ARTIST
Welcome 08/17/2011

Welcome to TheMarshallArtist.com.

As you may have guessed, marshallartist.com, marshallarts.com and other simplified variations on the name were already taken. I expect Justin Timberlake to call anytime and tell me to drop the "the" from the name to make it a more marketable site.
Unlike the plot of "The Social Network," I created this site myself with the hopes of someday making tens of dollars while avoiding the hassle of taking my best friends to court. It's the first site I've created outside of school and work, mainly just so I have a place to put my drawings other than Facebook and Twitter.
I used to draw cartoons for the award-winning Washburn Review, then I graduated. I also drew cartoons for the Topeka Capital-Journal, but went too far with a Native American joke. Since then, I've just been drawing pictures in my free time.
I plan on updating the site with new pictures at least a few times a week, which might sound difficult, but as long as people like Ray Lewis and Kobe are on the loose it won't be that hard to come up with ideas.
If you think of something funny I should draw a picture of, or if you want to defend A-Rod when I make inevitable jokes about his alleged steroid and/or cocaine use, feel free to click the Contact button on the right and get in touch with me.
In general, if you like sports, you will hopefully like the website. If you don't like sports, then I apologize, but maybe you can still find entertainment in clicking on the ads and making me some money.
Either way, thanks for coming to the site. Hopefully it lives up to your expectations better than Josh Selby did.

Was Josh Selby more of a disappointment than Xavier Henry?

I think so, even if it's only because of the injuries. They were supposed to be getting the No. 1 recruit in the country for a year. Instead he played to his potential against USC, got hurt, then stood in the corner waiting for the ball the rest of the time. I guess we'll find out who the better player is when the NBA comes back in 2012 and they're on the same team.
